Needles and stitches

This is something along the lines of ''I am fighting and I want to regain freedom''. Seems to be pretty common with my pictures. The 'wanting to escape' thing really appeals to me. Could even call this ventart.
Didn't quite turn out as I expected. I did the wolf sketch on one day and a few days later I corrected it and added the strings. It's not that believable to be honest. The wolf accidentally came out very good (the expression, pose and overall texture), so I'm happy about that. But the part that makes me a little uneasy is the strings... I didn't manage to make it look as if it hurts a lot. It just seems like a puppet somewhat. The stitches and strings are supposed to tear the skin and hurttt... I didn't manage that. I should have tried to make the skin look elastic and breaking/stretching under pressure. And the strings... should have used the ruler and made them actually STRAIGHT.. you know. Doesn't look that convincing this way. But... Meh

Overall it's nice. Still can't manage bg. Once I do draw something in the bg... please give me some credit. It's so hard for me xP Bg really isn't my thing x3 Especially when I draw with a pencil. In da computer I can manage something and it's tons easier. So, maybe next time it will be something I made in the computer? Who knows?
These seem dull compared to digital art, but I love doing it like this. Should learn to use colored pencils too.... yeah, good idea..
So there will probably be something similar someday. I'd like to practice what I lack. And I love this stitching/strings theme.
